Section #1 Becoming  a Coach – Specific Questions

How do I know if Coaching is the right career for me?
This is a complex question and depends on many personal factors. If you enjoy helping people and feel empowered by seeing others progress and reach their goals then this is a good indication.

Try asking yourself these questions. If you respond YES, then it sounds like Life Coaching would be an excellent career path for you:

* Do you like people?
* Are you a good listener?
* Do you easily develop a rapport with others?
* Do you like to take pride in other’s success?
* Do you enjoy helping others?
* Do you want to make a difference in the world?
* Do you want financial independence?
* Do you want to continue to grow spiritually?
* Do you desire to work at a job you love?

Can I make a good living as a coach what is a typical income?
There is a huge need for Life Coaches in the Philippines and very few qualified and certified Life Coaches to fulfill that need. That means that Life Coaches are in great demand.   Many coaches charge between 2,400 to 3,600 PHP per month for life coaching. Depending on the area of focus, you can adjust your fees.

If you are coaching an executive in a Multi-National Company (MNC) you will probably find they are prepared to pay a higher fee with an equally high expectation. If you are coaching clients by telephone or skype and they are located outside your country, you have the option to charge the rates for that country.

Also, these are really ballpark estimates.  Some superstar coaches working with high income earners charge yearly fees in the $50,000 – $100,000 range.

Each session is typically about 45 – 60 minutes. Annual income depends on whether one wishes to work full-time or part-time as a coach, as well as how much time one is willing to put into their practice.

In either case, at these rates, if you get even ONE client after you are a CCA certified coach, you will have recovered your tuition fee. In fact, we have designed our fee keeping exactly that in mind.

What type of individuals become coaches?
People who want to contribute; people committed to personal growth; people valuing freedom and independence in their career choice. A career in Coaching is perfect for the individual man or woman who desires to make a difference in people’s lives while maintaining a high standard of personal excellence in his or her own life.

Common backgrounds of today’s Coaches: Consultants, IT Professionals, Mental Health Professionals, Managers, Trainers in Development, Sales and Marketing professionals, Call center professionals, Hotel Management professionals, Human Resource Professionals, Financial Consultants and Chartered Accountants, Professional speakers, Fitness Instructors, Holistic Practitioners, Housewives and many many more.

In general, people from any walk of life and with any educational and professional background can become successful, financially independent coaches with international clients.

Is coaching considered therapy or counseling?
Coaching is NOT like therapy or counseling although Coaching does draw from a diverse range of disciplines. Coaching is more concerned with results rather than understanding or processing. Therefore, there is a strong focus on action. Coaching makes its focus on the future rather than the past.

Coaching is about working under the assumption that every individual that we are coaching already has all the answers that they require within his/herself. The primary job of the Coach is to help the client tap into the deep resource that they already own to find the appropriate answers to the areas of their life that is just not working for them. It is very important to remember that the Coaching Session is an ‘advice-free zone’.

Then, as you start getting more clients, you can begin to devote more time to your practice. At that point, you can opt to become a full-time coach, or you can continue coaching part time and earning that extra money.  Remember, at Philippine Coach Training we work with you to help you build your business.

Do coaches specialize?
Although many Coaches prefer to keep their options open, a great many coaches do choose to specialize and focus on a particular niche’ in the marketplace.

Business, Executive, Organizational, health and fitness, relationship, career, confidence, self-esteem, marriage, spiritual, and finances are just a few areas of specialty that we can mention here. The list is endless and you are only held by your imagination and your interests.

Why not build on your area of interest where you already have specialized knowledge.  You have instant credibility and may even have ways to market directly to those clients.

Deciding on if a specialty niche is right for you, and discovering just what that niche should be is part of your learning experience in the program.

Section #2 Philippine Coach Training Academy Questions

Why is the Philippine Coach Training Academy fee so low compared to other Coaching schools?
We have made it our policy to use the Internet as well as other electronic technologies as our primary vehicle for delivery of our training programs. This means that it isn’t necessary for us to charge exorbitant tuition in order to maintain a physical campus.

Also, our tuition rate has been specially set for Indian conditions – we believe that with our low pricing, Indians will be able to avail of this wonderful career opportunity without having to pay US or Canadian or European prices, which typically range from $2500 (USD) to upwards of $4500 (USD) for a program of similar duration.

We also believe that charging higher tuition prices to keep students in training longer than necessary is not conducive to fair practice. We believe in providing the very best, state of the art training at a fair and reasonable price to you, the student.

With this in mind, we offer accelerated accredited coach training aimed to serve you better, faster, and for less money than any other training program of comparable quality.

Through the use of technology, we ensure that instead of you having to drive to your class, the class comes to you!

It is precisely because of our use of technology that we are able to keep our costs this low.

Is accreditation a must?
There are many accreditation bodies scattered throughout the world, all of which uphold somewhat the same standard of training. Our programs are accredited through the Certified Coaches Alliance (CCA) – one of the most respected accreditation bodies in the world.

Accreditation is different from certification in that it assures you, the prospective student, that the program has been assessed and reviewed for its inclusive content of the eleven core competencies and ethical standards as recognized and adopted by most world-wide coaching organizations.

Program accreditation is not necessary for the life coach to begin and maintain a successful professional practice; however, generally speaking, an accredited program is generally considered the program of choice as the quality of the program is carefully scrutinized.

Also, if you plan on working in the business community or a corporation setting graduating from an internationally accredited schools can be an important credential for you.

How long will it take to complete my program?
The guideline for completion of the Certified Life Coach program is 6-months.   This works for the majority of students.

However, we have some flexibility when indicators suggest that a student has current life issues that will slow his or her progress. At any time should you find that you are not able to keep up to the study schedule, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible about the issue.  Based on your need, a one-time 60-day extension can be granted at an additional administration cost of $100.00 (USD).

Is there one coaching method  I must use?
Absolutely not. We firmly believe that the face of coaching is an ever-evolving profession.

We do not favor any particular Coaching model over another. Our program, however, will teach you the accepted ‘standard of practice’ model. We encourage our students to continue to develop his or her discipline as they so choose based on their particular background, strengths and interests.
